Play by Entries

Terms of Service

Effective date: August 31, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Play by Entries ("Play"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use Play. Play is a business service for accounting firms and similar organizations.

2. The service

Play lets you connect each client's QuickBooks Online company to AI tools that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP), such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. Play proxies live QuickBooks requests for workspaces you authorize. It does not replace QuickBooks as the system of record.

3. License

Entries grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Play for your internal business purposes, subject to these terms.

4. Restrictions

  • Do not copy, modify, or create derivative works of Play.
  • Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract code.
  • Do not use Play to violate any law or third-party rights.
  • Do not resell, rent, or sublicense Play, or provide it as a service to others.
  • Do not connect client books you are not authorized to access.

5. Billing

Play is billed through Stripe at the price shown at signup, currently $5 USD per connected client per month. Quantity follows the number of billable client workspaces. You can manage payment methods and cancel in firm settings. If you cancel, access ends immediately and unused time in the current period may be refunded where possible.

6. AI agents and QuickBooks writes

When you authorize an MCP client, that client can read QuickBooks data for the clients you allow. If you grant write access, the client can create, update, and delete QuickBooks records. You are responsible for reviewing agent actions and for the consequences of those actions. Entries is not liable for mistakes made by third-party AI tools or for changes they make in QuickBooks.

7. Third-party services

Play depends on third-party products, including Intuit QuickBooks, Stripe, and the AI tools you connect. Their terms and privacy policies also apply. QuickBooks, Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor are trademarks of their respective owners.

8. Ownership

Play and all related intellectual property rights are owned by Entries or its licensors. No rights are granted other than those expressly stated in these terms. You retain rights in your firm and client data.

9. Updates

Entries may provide updates or changes to Play at any time. Updates are subject to these terms.

10. Termination

These terms are effective until terminated. You may stop using Play and cancel your subscription at any time. Entries may terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using Play.

11. Disclaimers

Play is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Play is not a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or legal advice.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Entries will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Play, including changes made in QuickBooks by AI tools you authorize.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Entries is established, without regard to conflict of laws rules.
